Biographie
Harys drum lessons live off his experience in gigs and musical cooperations in diverse band formations. (Blues, Jazz, Bluesrock, Grunge, Kuba Style, Afro Beat, Flamenco, SingerSong Writer)
He began taking drum lessons at the age of 7 years and three years later also started with Jazz drum lessons. Among some of his early teachers were Klaus Wonisch und Norbert Wallner in Graz, where he also took drum lessons at the Konservatorium. Later on in Vienna as student at the Vienna Music Institut he was taught by Jörg Mikula, Harry Tanschek und Dusan Novakov; He took percussion lessons by Norbert Schmid, Hannes Kelz (Djembe) und Peter Stipsit (Tabla) and autodidact (Cajon).
One of Harys trademarks is his systematic versatility as a percussion and drum teacher.
The playful spirit in learning lives in his sporadical Djembe Workshops, where a diverse set of styles can be acquired in a short amount of time. What makes his lessons particular, is that even beginners quickly start playing rhythms. Pupils learn a new rhythm to sing every week, and thereby learn to drum. This alleviates intuitive comprehension and supports a more musical approach in playing drums. The Impro Drum Kurs contains easy to learn, traditional westafrican rhythms. Liberte', Kokobasajo, Koukou, Sasonier.... after payment of course fee you receive a personal google-drive-link for notation > Aktuelle Kurse > Einzel Unterricht > Notenmaterial!
He initiated the project Scalio where he is doing shows or recording with guest musicians. https://scalio.jimdosite.com/ueber-mich/

Drums are used not only for their musical qualities, but also as a means of communication over great distances. The talking drums of Africa are used to imitate the tone patterns of spoken language. So for me it s natural firstly to sing rhythms and play from memorizing the patterns.
